Services

Strong Center Open Doors exists to help worship leaders take liturgy out of
the box. This website is a "meeting place" where you can come to share the
vision of liturgical spirituality known around the strong central things--font,
pulpit and table--and how life around these central things forms the people of
God for open-door living in the world of daily life.

Baptismal font and pool, St. Theresa
(Roman Catholic) Co-Cathedral, Honolulu.
What would baptism in this pool be like for
the recipient and the attending
congregation? Can you imagine services of
the reaffrimation of the baptismal covenant
in this pool?
Pastor James White presiding at a baptism at
Aiea UMC. The rite was done well, but how do
we move to more ample use of water and
fonts and pools that make more powerful
statements and more fully enact the
abundance of God's grace? What prevents us
from renovating our worship spaces with
more ample fonts and pools?
